Unlocking global inflight connectivity

Gogo Galileo's impact on business aviation with LEO satellite internet

The business aviation industry is on the brink of a transformation with the introduction of Gogo Galileo, Gogo’s new global broadband satellite service. To explain how the demand for fast, reliable, low-latency connectivity is changing business aviation, specifically with Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite internet, we asked for Mark Sander, Senior Vice President of Sales at Gogo, to share his expertise through a Q&A.

Q: Why does Gogo Galileo stand out among LEO satellite providers?

A: The distinguishing factor for Gogo Galileo is that it’s built exclusively for business aviation, unlike other LEO satellite providers that serve larger markets such as homes, businesses, commercial aviation or maritime industries. Business aviation demands a specific level of customization and understanding of how and where business aircraft operate, and Gogo delivers these requirements. From demos to customer feedback, the need for faster global connectivity has never been clearer.

Gogo Galileo has been designed to be adaptable across different types of aircraft and configurations. During recent demos, operators experienced LEO connectivity over the Eutelsat/OneWeb network with peak speeds approaching 60Mbps and 200Mbps, allowing them to understand the value and variety of options that Gogo Galileo offers. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, from single aircraft operators to large global fleets, showing that the business aviation market is eager for a connectivity solution that meets its demands.

Q: What feedback have you received through live Gogo Galileo’s demos?

A: Experiencing something is always much better than hearing or reading about it. Having a live demo where people can experience what 200 Mbps and 60 Mbps feels like on their own device is an impactful way for us to showcase our range of offerings.

That’s why we launched our Gogo Galileo tour with more than 30 stops across the U.S. You can “test fly” Gogo Galileo in our state-of-the-art mobile demo room at an FBO near you. RSVP for an in-person demo of Gogo Galileo.

Gogo Galileo is a super cool system. I like that you can take your existing air-to-ground (ATG) system and turn it into a satellite system with very little interface. It's a way to bring satellite connectivity to aircraft without huge alterations.
